NOT SO FAST: Schiff Thought He Was 'Off the Hook' Until He Got the News - Now He's Panicking

WASHINGTON D.C. — Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) might have thought he was finally in the clear, but the Department of Justice just delivered a massive reality check. After an MSNBC reporter claimed that federal prosecutors were backing off the high-profile mortgage fraud investigation into the California Democrat, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stepped in to completely shut down the narrative.

THE "MADE-UP MEETING"

The media firestorm ignited when Ken Dilanian, MSNBC’s justice and intelligence correspondent, took to social media and television with a massive claim. Dilanian reported that Kelly Hayes—the U.S. Attorney in Maryland overseeing the Schiff probe—recently met with Deputy AG Todd Blanche and confessed that the case against Schiff was not strong enough to win.

Dilanian’s reporting prompted Schiff’s lawyer, former federal prosecutor Preet Bharara, to immediately issue a statement claiming the "politically-motivated allegations" were baseless and unsupported by evidence.
