RICHMOND, VA — A top-ranking Virginia Democratic official is in federal custody facing "horrendous" charges related to child exploitation, an arrest that has sent shockwaves through the Commonwealth's political landscape. "Sickening" Allegations in Richmond
Randon Sprinkle, 30, a former finance chairman for the Virginia Democratic Party, was arrested after a federal investigation uncovered graphic and disturbing material on his electronic devices. According to a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, forensic experts discovered 68 files of child pornography, including a video depicting the sexual assault of an infant.
The investigation began when Sprinkle, using the alias "Randy," allegedly contacted an undercover FBI agent on a dating app. The affidavit claims he eventually moved the conversation to Telegram, where he admitted to having preferences for "young, rape, [and] incest."
Political Nightmare for Virginia Democrats
Sprinkle’s arrest has created an immediate crisis for the state party. Having served as the finance director and a treasurer for the Metro Richmond Area Young Democrats, Sprinkle was a fixture in high-level circles.

Richmond City Council Vice President Katherine Jordan, who employed Sprinkle as a campaign treasurer, stated she was "shocked and sickened" by the "abhorrent" allegations. Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan also issued a statement condemning the acts and calling for prosecution to the fullest extent of the law. If convicted, Sprinkle faces a mandatory minimum of five years in federal prison.
Shakeup at the FBI: Dan Bongino Resigns
In a separate development that has rocked the law enforcement community, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced his resignation during an emotional appearance on Fox & Friends. Bongino, a key figure in the Trump administration's efforts to revamp the bureau, cited the immense personal toll the role had taken on his life and marriage.
