PART 1: THE BIRTHMARK ON THE BABY’S CHEST

Elena Val never imagined that the happiest moment of her life would begin with a question that made her heart freeze.

The delivery room was colder than she expected.

The bright surgical lights shone down on her exhausted face. The steady sound of the heart monitor filled the silent white room.

Every beat.

Every single beat.

Reminding her that after nine long months of waiting, her baby boy had finally arrived safely into the world.

Elena had endured hours of pain.

But when she heard her son’s first cry, everything disappeared.

She cried.

Not because of the pain.

But because of the relief.

“Congratulations. Mother and baby are both doing well.”

The nurse smiled as she carried the baby closer.

Elena looked at the tiny face.

The little hands were tightly clenched.

The eyes were still closed.

A fragile life that depended completely on her.

Her son.

The child she had protected for nine months.

“Hello, my baby…” Elena whispered.

Her voice trembled.

“I’m sorry I made you wait so long.”

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

At that moment, all the painful memories felt distant.

The broken marriage.

The lies.

The man she once loved.

None of it mattered anymore.

There was only her and this baby.

But then…

The atmosphere in the room changed.

Elena noticed it first, not through sound.

But through the silence.

A strange kind of silence.

She opened her eyes.

The doctor examining her son had stopped moving.

He said nothing.

He simply stood there.

His hands still holding the baby.

But his eyes were no longer normal.

He was staring at the baby’s chest.

Elena watched as he slowly pulled back the blanket.

And then she saw it.

A birthmark.

A dark crescent-shaped mark on the left side of the baby’s chest.

At first, Elena didn’t understand.

A birthmark.

That was all.

Many babies were born with them.

But the doctor’s expression made her blood run cold.

“Doctor?”

Her voice was weak.

“Is something wrong?”

The older doctor didn’t answer immediately.

He looked at the baby.

Then he looked at Elena.

His face changed.

It was no longer the calm expression of a doctor.

It was the fear of a man who had just seen something from his past return.

“Mrs. Val…”

He spoke slowly.

“May I ask…”

He paused.

As if carefully choosing every word.

“Who is this child’s father?”

The question fell into the room.

Heavier than any sound.

Elena felt her entire body freeze.

She thought the doctor would ask if her son was healthy.

She thought he would talk about his weight.

His heartbeat.

The normal things after birth.

But not this.

Not now.

Not with that look.

“The father of my child?”

Elena repeated.

The doctor nodded.

“Yes.”

“Why do you need to know?”

The room became silent.

The doctor looked at the birthmark again.

“Because I have seen this before.”

Elena’s heart started pounding.

“Where?”

The doctor didn’t answer immediately.

He gently placed the baby down.

But instead of handing him to the nurse, he kept one hand on the blanket.

As if he was afraid of something.

“I saw it on a man.”

Elena said nothing.

“A man from a family very few people know about.”

Her throat went dry.

“What family?”

The doctor looked at her.

And his answer shattered her world.

“The Blackwood family.”

Only two words.

But enough to drag her back into the past.

The past she had tried to bury.

Elena closed her eyes.

A face appeared in her mind.

A tall man.

Cold eyes.

A deep voice.

The man she had loved more than anyone.

Alexander Blackwood.

But he wasn’t just a man.

He was the heir of one of the most powerful families in the country.

A family the media once called “a bloodline beyond reach.”

And also the family Elena had run away from three years ago.

Without an explanation.

Without a goodbye.

She thought she had escaped them.

She thought the child inside her would never be connected to the Blackwood name.

But now…

A small birthmark had destroyed everything.

“It can’t be…”

Elena whispered.

The doctor looked at her.

“You know who I’m talking about.”

She stayed silent.

And that silence answered for her.

The doctor sighed.

“Is he still alive?”

The question shocked Elena.

“Who?”

“Alexander Blackwood.”

That name echoed in the room.

And Elena felt an old fear return.

She looked down at her son.

The baby was sleeping peacefully.

Not knowing that in only a few minutes, his entire life had been pulled into a world full of secrets.

A world of power.

Money.

And people who would do anything to protect their bloodline.

“He doesn’t know.”

Elena said.

The doctor frowned.

“Doesn’t know what?”

“He doesn’t know I had his child.”

A long silence followed.

Then the doctor asked:

“You hid the baby from him?”

Elena tightened her hand around the small blanket.

Not because she was angry.

But because she remembered why.

“It wasn’t because I wanted to hide him.”

Her voice cracked.

“I had to.”

The doctor stared at her.

“Why?”

Elena looked toward the door.

As if she was afraid someone was listening.

“Because if that family finds out about this child…”

She stopped.

Tears fell from her eyes.

“My son will no longer be a child.”

“He will become a name.”

“An heir.”

“A piece on their chessboard.”

The doctor remained silent.

He understood.

The Blackwoods were never a simple family.

They didn’t only have money.

They had power.

They had secrets passed down through generations.

And the mark on this baby’s chest…

Could be the key that opened everything again.

Elena reached out.

“Give him to me.”

The doctor watched her for a few seconds.

Then he handed the baby back.

The moment her son was in her arms, Elena felt calmer.

The baby opened his eyes.

Only slightly.

Looking at her.

His tiny hand wrapped around her finger.

Elena began to cry.

But this time, not from fear.

From determination.

She leaned down and kissed his forehead.

“Whatever happens…”

She whispered.

“I will protect you.”

The doctor heard her.

And he knew.

That moment changed everything.

Because Elena Val was no longer the woman running from her past.

She was a mother.

And there was nothing more dangerous than a mother protecting her child.

But Elena didn’t know…

Outside the hospital, a black car had just stopped.

A man stepped out.

He looked up at the building.

In his hand was an old photograph.

A photograph of Elena.

And a baby who was never supposed to be known.

The man looked at the paper in his hand.

The birth date.

The hospital name.

And one sentence:

“The child carries the mark of the Blackwood bloodline.”

He crushed the paper in his hand.

After three years…

They had finally found her.

May you like

And they were coming to take back what they believed belonged to them.

Alexander Blackwood’s son.
