PART 3: The Button That Destroyed Them

Everything happened in seconds.

My father’s face changed.

Not anger.

Something worse.

A man who believed he was losing control.

He reached forward.

Before I could react, his hand grabbed my crutch.

“Dad…”

He ripped it away.

My balance disappeared instantly.

My injured leg twisted beneath me.

Pain exploded through my body.

I hit the concrete patio hard.

My papers flew everywhere.

Guests gasped.

Children stopped playing.

Nobody moved.

I looked up at my father.

The man who was supposed to protect me.

He was standing above me holding my crutch.

“You’re an ungrateful daughter,” he said.

My vision blurred.

“Give it back…”

He didn’t.

My mother stood nearby.

She looked shocked.

But she didn’t come help.

She didn’t call anyone.

She just watched.

Then my father raised the crutch.

My stomach dropped.

“Dad, stop.”

But he swung.

The metal struck the side of my head.

A sharp ringing filled my ears.

The world tilted.

Warm blood ran down my face.

Someone screamed.

I don’t know who.

Maybe one of the guests.

Maybe my mother.

Maybe me.

Everything started fading.

But before I lost consciousness, I remembered something.

The emergency button.

The one my doctor gave me after the accident.

One press.

That was all.

My shaking finger found my phone.

I pressed it.

Immediately, the alert went out.

To emergency services.

To my attorney.

And to the private investigator I had secretly hired after discovering the missing money.

My family thought I came there alone.

They thought I had no power.

They thought they had broken me.

But they didn’t know one thing.

I had already prepared for the moment they showed who they really were.

And now…

Fifty witnesses had seen everything.
