PART 1 — THE WOMAN THEY THOUGHT WAS NOTHING

The first time Damian humiliated Elena, everyone laughed.

The second time, they joined him.

But the third time…

they discovered who she really was.

The ballroom of the Voss Foundation’s annual gala was filled with powerful people.

CEOs.

Investors.

Politicians.

People who controlled billions with a phone call.

And in the center of the room stood Damian Blackwood.

Confident.

Smiling.

Untouchable.

At least, that’s what he believed.

Beside him stood Veronica, his fiancée.

She was wearing a diamond necklace worth more than most people’s homes.

She looked around the room proudly.

Because everyone was watching them.

The perfect couple.

The successful businessman.

The beautiful woman who would soon become his wife.

And then Elena walked in.

Simple black dress.

No jewelry.

No assistant.

No security.

Just a calm expression.

The room barely noticed her.

Except Damian.

His smile disappeared.

For a second.

Then he laughed.

“Well, this is unexpected.”

Elena looked at him.

“Is it?”

Veronica crossed her arms.

“I didn’t know they allowed guests without invitations.”

A few people laughed.

Elena didn’t react.

She had heard worse.

Much worse.

Damian stepped closer.

“You actually came.”

“I received the invitation.”

He smiled coldly.

“Of course you did.”

He looked around.

“Still pretending you belong in places like this?”

The words were meant to hurt.

Years ago, they would have.

But Elena simply looked at him.

“I don’t pretend.”

Damian raised an eyebrow.

“Really?”

“Yes.”

She smiled faintly.

“I own the room.”

The laughter came again.

Louder this time.

Veronica leaned toward Damian.

“Is she serious?”

Damian shook his head.

“Elena always had an imagination.”

The people around them smiled.

They saw a quiet woman.

They saw someone easy to dismiss.

They didn’t see the woman who built an empire from nothing.

They didn’t know the name Elena Voss.

Not the real one.

Three years earlier…

Elena had met Damian when he had nothing.

No company.

No influence.

No reputation.

He told her:

“Everyone underestimates me.”

She believed him.

She helped him.

Introduced him to investors.

Opened doors.

Gave him opportunities.

And when he finally became successful…

he forgot who opened those doors.

Then came the betrayal.

Damian didn’t just leave.

He erased her.

Told everyone she was only an assistant.

A former employee.

Someone who had “helped him a little.”

He took credit for everything.

And Elena let him.

Because she wanted to see how far he would go.

Now she finally knew.

Far enough.

At the gala, Damian raised his glass.

“To new beginnings.”

Everyone applauded.

Elena watched quietly.

Then the lights dimmed.

The host stepped onto the stage.

“Before tonight’s announcement, we have a special presentation.”

Damian smiled.

He thought it was about him.

He was wrong.

The screen behind the stage turned on.

A logo appeared.

VOSS GLOBAL HOLDINGS

The room went silent.

Damian’s smile disappeared.

May you like

Because everyone knew that name.

Everyone except the man standing beside Elena.
