PART 3 — The Hidden Truth

The next morning, Don Ernesto woke up in his own bedroom feeling like a stranger in his own life.

The documents were gone.

His phone was missing.

His access cards no longer worked.

And the house that he had built with decades of sacrifice suddenly felt like a prison.

Renata walked into the room carrying coffee.

Almost politely.

“Good morning.”

Don Ernesto looked at her.

“How long?”

She raised an eyebrow.

“How long what?”

“How long have you been planning this?”

Renata smiled.

“Long enough.”

She placed the coffee on the table.

“You made one mistake, Don Ernesto.”

He stared at her.

“You underestimated me.”

“No,” he replied.

“I underestimated how little humanity you had.”

For the first time, her smile disappeared.

“You old people always think respect is something you earn forever.”

She stepped closer.

“But the world changes.”

Don Ernesto looked out the window.

The garden.

The trees.

The house.

Everything he had built.

And suddenly he remembered something.

Rodrigo always checked the security cameras.

Always.

Even when he said they were offline.

“Where are the recordings?” Don Ernesto asked.

Renata froze.

Only for a second.

But he noticed.

“There are no recordings.”

Don Ernesto looked back at her.

“You’re lying.”

A small smile appeared on his face.

Because after decades in business, he understood one thing.

People who have power don’t panic.

People who are hiding something do.

That afternoon, while Renata and Rodrigo argued downstairs, Don Ernesto found an old emergency phone hidden inside his desk.

A phone he had kept for years.

A phone nobody knew existed.

He turned it on.

There was one saved contact.

A private investigator he had hired months earlier.

The only person he still trusted.

The message he sent was simple:

“Find out what my son is hiding.”

Two hours later, the reply arrived.

And the truth was worse than he imagined.

Javier had been meeting Renata secretly for over a year.

But there was something else.

Something even more shocking.

Javier wasn’t planning to take the company.

He was planning to sell it.

And disappear.

Don Ernesto closed his eyes.

The pain was unbearable.

Not because he was losing money.

Not because he was losing power.

May you like

But because the child he had sacrificed everything for…

had chosen to destroy him.
