Chapter 8 - Eli’s Decision
After the verdict, Eli found me sitting alone.
The court had ruled.
Consequences followed.
But victory did not feel like joy.
It felt like an ending.
Eli sat beside me.
“What now?”
I smiled.
“What do you want to do?”
He frowned.
“What?”
“With your life.”
He laughed.
“You just won a hundred million dollars.”
“And?”
“And you’re asking me what I want?”
“Yes.”
He looked away.
Then said quietly, “I want to reopen my repair shop.”
“Then reopen it.”
“With your money?”
“With a loan.”
He looked surprised.
I smiled.
“Low interest.”
He laughed.
“You’re impossible.”
“And you’re still alive.”
“Barely.”
But his business reopened.
Not as a gift.
As an opportunity.
