Chapter 10 - The New Dawn

Three months later.

The crisp autumn air of the North Coast carried the scent of pine and ocean salt across the sprawling lawns of Grayson Manor.

The grand estate had changed. The oppressive, cold luxury curated by Vanessa had been replaced by warmth, light, and genuine life. The staff wing had been remodeled, and the security protocols were completely overhauled under a new, highly trusted advisory team.

I stood on the stone balcony of the master study, looking down at the front gardens.

Zoey—now wearing two matching pink sneakers—was chasing a butterfly across the immaculate green lawn, laughing as Marcus Reed—who had officially taken over as corporate liaison—pretended to be a charging monster, stumbling dramatically into the grass.

A pair of strong, familiar arms wrapped around my waist from behind.

I leaned back against Daniel’s chest, smiling as he rested his chin gently on my shoulder.

“They’re going to wear Marcus out before lunch,” Daniel murmured, kissing the side of my neck.

“Marcus loves it,” I replied, turning slightly in his embrace to look up at him. “He hasn't smiled this much in years.”

Daniel smiled, his eyes warm and clear, completely free of the ghosts that had haunted the manor for so long. “Neither have I.”

Down on the lawn, Zoey suddenly stopped running, looked up toward the balcony, and pointed her little finger right at us.

Daniel chuckled, raising his hand to wave at her. “What is she pointing at now?”

“She’s probably telling you your tie is crooked,” I laughed, leaning up to kiss him.

The lies were gone. The shadows were cleared. And for the first time in Grayson Manor, the truth was the only thing building our future.
