Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Sovereign

That evening, a grand celebration was held at the newly reopened Dalton-Villano Tower in downtown Chicago.
The top five floors had been completely redesigned into the headquarters of the Crescent Global Foundation—a sovereign philanthropic initiative dedicated to funding women’s education, historical preservation, and economic development across North America and Europe.
Over four hundred guests attended—international dignitaries, civic leaders, corporate titans, and artists.
Mireia stood near the floor-to-ceiling glass wall of the grand reception hall, wearing an exquisite midnight-blue silk gown, the oval blue diamond ring gleaming brilliantly on her left hand.
Beside her, Darius stood tall, broad, and majestic, his hand resting possessively and lovingly against her waist, his eyes scanning the room with calm, sovereign pride.
Darius raised his champagne glass, tapping it gently with a silver spoon.
The large hall went completely silent. Every eye turned toward the magnificent couple standing before the breathtaking night skyline of Chicago.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Darius announced, his deep, resonant baritone filling the room with absolute authority and profound emotion. “Tonight, we do not celebrate the acquisition of a company, nor the expansion of an empire.”
He looked down at Mireia, his hazel eyes burning with an intense, eternal love that captivated everyone in attendance.
“Tonight, we celebrate the triumph of truth, the restoration of a legacy, and the queen who reclaimed her birthright from the shadows.”
He raised his glass high toward her.
“To my wife, Mireia Villano,” Darius declared warmly. “The sovereign heart of this city.”
The room erupted into loud, triumphant applause, guests raising their glasses high in celebration.
Mireia looked up into her husband’s eyes, a beautiful, brilliant smile illuminating her face.
She remembered the cold November rain on Michigan Avenue. She remembered the humiliation of the engagement dinner, the fear of the unknown, and the moment she had thrown Caleb’s cheap ring back at his chest.

She had lost a false fiancé, a toxic family, and a life built on lies.
And in return, she had gained an empire, a true king, and a love that was forged in the fire of the crescent moon—unbroken, invincible, and sovereign forever.
