Chapter 10 - The City of the Sun

Two years later.

The sun was rising over the private coastal villa in Amalfi, Italy—a peaceful, sun-drenched estate where the Castellano family spent their summer months away from the cold rain of Bellgrave.

On the wide stone terrace overlooking the sparkling blue sea, a golden retriever named Bruno was chasing butterflies through the blooming bougainvillea flowers.

In a soft, woven hammock hanging between two lemon trees sat Marin.

She wore a light white summer dress that flowed softly around her voluptuous frame, her dark curls tumbling over her shoulders in wild, sun-kissed waves.

In her arms, she held a four-month-old baby girl—a chubby, happy infant with bright hazel eyes and a adorable dusting of dark hair.

The glass doors opened, and Dominic stepped out onto the terrace, wearing a loose white linen shirt and dark trousers. The stress lines that had once carved his face six years ago were completely gone, replaced by a deep, profound serenity.

He walked over to the hammock, kneeling on the warm stone floor beside his wife and daughter.

He reached out, his long, scarred fingers gently stroking his daughter's soft cheek, before leaning up to press a warm, passionate kiss against Marin's lips.

"Is the little princess sleeping?" Dominic whispered softly.

"She was," Marin smiled, her dark eyes sparkling with boundless joy. "Until her father walked out here smelling like dark coffee."

Dominic let out a low, husky laugh, resting his forehead against Marin's shoulder, wrapping his massive arms around both his wife and daughter, holding them close against his beating heart.

In the distance, the bells of the coastal church rang out across the warm Italian bay, ushering in another day of peace, warmth, and absolute devotion.

The city of Bellgrave was safe, the syndicate was prosperous, and the crime king who had once forgotten how to feel had found his eternal home in the arms of the woman no one would ever dare to touch again.

"I love you, Marin," Dominic whispered into the warm sea breeze.

"I love you, Dominic," she answered softly.

And beneath the golden Italian sun, their laughter filled the world.
