PART 1 — The Fall

One shove down the staircase turned a future wedding into a billionaire’s greatest betrayal.

The mansion had never felt so silent.

The marble floors reflected the soft lights, the expensive paintings watched from the walls, and every sound seemed to disappear into the enormous rooms.

Until that night.

Until one moment changed everything.

Evelyn Parker slowly climbed the grand staircase, holding the railing with trembling hands.

She was not there for money.

She wasn’t there to ask for favors.

She only wanted to see her son.

Her son, Alexander Reed — the billionaire everyone admired, the man who built an empire from nothing.

But to Evelyn, he was still the little boy she once held in her arms.

At the top of the stairs, someone was waiting.

Victoria Lane.

Young.

Elegant.

Perfectly dressed in champagne-colored silk.

She stood there like the mansion already belonged to her.

“Mrs. Parker,” Victoria said coldly.

Evelyn stopped.

“Victoria.”

The young woman smiled.

“You really don’t understand, do you?”

Evelyn frowned.

“Understand what?”

“That you don’t belong here anymore.”

The words hurt more than Evelyn expected.

She looked around the mansion.

“This is my son’s home.”

Victoria crossed her arms.

“Exactly.”

She stepped closer.

“His home. Not yours.”

Evelyn studied her face.

For years, she had tried to believe Victoria was a good woman.

But now she saw something different.

Something hidden.

“You don’t love my son,” Evelyn whispered.

For a second…

Victoria’s smile disappeared.

Then she quickly recovered.

“You should be careful with accusations, old woman.”

Evelyn turned away.

“I’m leaving.”

She took one step toward the staircase.

Then another.

Behind her, Victoria’s expression changed.

The kindness vanished.

The mask fell.

“You should have stayed away.”

Evelyn froze.

Before she could turn around…

Two hands pushed her.

Hard.

Her body lost balance.

Her fingers reached for the railing.

But there was nothing to hold onto.

And then—

She fell.

Her scream echoed through the mansion.

One second later…

Alexander Reed entered the lobby.

And saw his mother lying on the marble floor.

“Mom…”

His voice broke.

Then the head of security rushed toward him.

Holding a tablet.

“Sir… you need to see this.”
