While the footage destroyed Isabella’s story, Marcus sat outside the examination room.
Gabriel joined him.
Marcus looked exhausted.
“I should have seen it.”
Gabriel sat beside him.
“You were watching your wife.”
“I let Isabella stay around us.”
“You didn’t know what she would do.”
Marcus looked toward the door.
“She did this because of me.”
Gabriel shook his head.
“No.”
Marcus frowned.
“She chose this.”
The older man’s voice became firm.
“Do not take responsibility for someone else’s cruelty.”
Marcus looked away.
Gabriel continued.
“And if she thought Khloe was alone, she made another mistake.”
