Chapter 10 - THE PERFECT BALANCE

Six months later.
The summer sun shone brightly over the pristine waters of Lake Michigan, illuminating the grand backyard garden of the Gallow Estate. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming white roses and fresh lavender.
The estate was no longer just a fortress of dark mafia business; it had transformed into a home filled with life, laughter, and warmth.
Norah stood on the master balcony, wearing a simple, elegant ivory silk dress that hugged her gorgeous curves. Her pale skin was glowing, her dark hair styled in soft waves over her shoulders. She looked breathtaking, confident, and radiant—a far cry from the exhausted, broken girl who had walked into the Cobalt Lounge eight months prior.
Warm, familiar arms wrapped securely around her waist from behind, pulling her soft back against a broad, muscular chest. Dominic leaned down, resting his chin on her shoulder, pressing a soft kiss to her neck.
"What are you thinking about, Mrs. Gallow?" he asked softly, his deep voice thick with absolute affection.
Norah smiled softly, turning her head slightly to kiss his jawline. "I was thinking about numbers."
Dominic chuckled, a low rumbling sound that warmed her soul. "Of course you were. You're still an auditor at heart."
"I was thinking about the math of my life," she murmured, turning around in his arms to face him, resting her hands on his chest. "For twenty-eight years, my ledger was completely in the red. Deficits of time, love, happiness, and hope. I thought I was destined to end up with a balance of zero."
She looked up into his deep brown eyes, which were filled with pure, unwavering love and devotion.
"And then you walked into my life," she whispered softly. "You paid off my debts, you protected me, you taught me how to live, and you gave me a home. You made my life infinitely rich."
Dominic’s dark eyes softened with overwhelming emotion. He reached up, his large, warm hand cupping her cheek, his thumb gently caressing her soft skin—the exact same gesture he had made on the night they first met.
"You have it backward, little bird," Dominic murmured, his voice thick with raw sincerity. "Before you walked into that back office, my world was nothing but violence, blood, greed, and hollow ambition. I had everything money could buy, but my soul was completely bankrupt."
He leaned down, pressing his forehead gently against hers.
"You brought truth into my life, Norah. You brought purity, courage, and unconditional love. You saved me from the monster I was becoming. You are the greatest asset I will ever possess."
Norah smiled brightly, tears of pure happiness sparkling in her eyes. "So... what is our final balance, Mr. Gallow?"
Dominic smiled—a brilliant, gorgeous, open smile reserved only for her. He slid his hand down to her soft stomach, where a tiny, barely noticeable swell rested beneath the white silk of her dress—a new life, a new legacy growing safely beneath her heart.
"The balance is infinite, my love," Dominic declared softly.

He leaned down and claimed her lips in a deep, passionate, possessive kiss that carried all the promises of their past, their present, and their radiant future together.
Norah closed her eyes, wrapping her arms tightly around her husband’s neck, completely surrendering to the warm, intoxicating embrace of the man who had looked at her darkest secrets and found his perfection.
