Chapter 7 - SURRENDER

The threat from Victor Vance shifted everything within the Gallow Estate. Security was raised to maximum lockdown. Armed men patrolled the grounds around the clock, and Norah was no longer allowed to leave the mansion without a full security detail led by Dominic himself.
The overwhelming tension in the house acted like an pressure cooker, amplifying the intense, electric connection between Norah and Dominic.
Late that night, a terrible thunderstorm rolled across Lake Forest. Heavy rain lashed against the high glass windows of Norah’s suite, accompanied by booming thunder that shook the floorboards.
Norah lay awake in her massive bed, staring at the ceiling, her mind filled with images of Victor Vance’s terrifying video message. Every time she closed her eyes, she imagined cold eyes watching her from the dark.
Unable to bear the suffocating fear and silence any longer, Norah got out of bed. She pulled a silk robe over her lace nightgown and walked out of her suite, crossing the quiet, darkened hallway to Dominic’s private room.
She knocked softly on his heavy oak door. "Dominic?"
The door opened almost instantly. Dominic stood there, shirtless, wearing only a pair of low-slung black trousers. His impressive, muscular chest was covered in dark, intricate tattoos that told the violent story of his life. His dark hair was messy, and his eyes burned with quiet intensity as he looked down at her.
"Norah?" he asked, his deep voice thick with concern. "What’s wrong? Are you okay?"
"I... I couldn't sleep," she admitted quietly, wrapping her arms around her waist, looking up at him with vulnerable, wide eyes. "I kept thinking about Vance. I kept hearing the thunder."
Dominic’s expression softened instantly. He stepped aside, opening the door wide. "Come inside."
Norah walked into his private bedroom. It was massive, decorated in dark woods and black leather, dominated by a large king-sized bed facing a roaring fireplace. The air smelled intoxicatingly of his masculine cologne and warm cedarwood.
Dominic walked up behind her, taking her silk robe and gently sliding it off her shoulders, letting it pool onto the floor. Norah stood before him in her delicate white silk nightgown, her pale skin glowing in the firelight.
"You don't have to be afraid, little bird," Dominic murmured, his voice low and incredibly warm. He reached out, his fingers tracing the curve of her hip through the soft silk. "Nothing in this world can harm you while you are in this room with me."
Norah turned to face him, looking up into his dark, mesmerizing eyes. She saw no mob boss, no violence, no crime. She saw the man who had looked into her soul when she was at her lowest and claimed her as his own.
"I don't want to be afraid anymore, Dominic," she whispered, stepping closer to him, pressing her palms flat against his warm, muscular chest. She could feel his fast, heavy heartbeat beneath her hands. "I want you. Completely."
Dominic’s breath hitched. A dark, intense fire exploded in his dark eyes. "Norah... if we do this, there is no turning back. You will be mine in every sense of the word. I will never let you go."
"I don't ever want you to let me go," she replied softly, her voice filled with absolute conviction.
Dominic let out a low, guttural groan, wrapping his massive arms around her, pulling her body tightly against his. He claimed her lips in a deep, wildly passionate kiss that took her breath away entirely.
He lifted her easily into his arms and carried her to the bed, gently laying her down upon the soft mattress. He hovered over her, his dark eyes searching hers, giving her one final chance to pull back. But Norah reached up, her fingers tangling in his dark hair, pulling his head down to kiss him again.
With slow, reverent care, Dominic undressed her, worshipping every single inch of her body with his warm hands and soft lips. He kissed her cheeks, her throat, her delicate collarbone, and down to her flat stomach. Every touch set her nerve endings ablaze with a sweet, aching heat she had never known existed.
When his lips moved lower, exploring her most sensitive skin, Norah gasped loudly, her hands gripping the silk sheets tightly as waves of pure, intense pleasure washed through her body.
Dominic was incredibly patient, guiding her gently through her initial hesitation, treating her fragile innocence like the most precious treasure in the world. He whispered sweet, possessive promises against her skin, ensuring she felt entirely safe, desired, and worshiped.
When he finally joined his body with hers, it was slow, deep, and mind-shatteringly intense. A small sharp gasp escaped Norah’s lips at the initial pressure, but Dominic held her tightly, kissing away her tears, breathing his love into her lungs until the pain transformed into an overwhelming, breathless pleasure.

They moved together in perfect, intoxicating harmony to the rhythm of the crackling fire and the rain beating against the windows outside.
In that sacred, beautiful night, Norah surrendered her body, her innocence, and her heart to Dominic Gallow. And as she crashed over the edge of a blinding, explosive climax, held securely in his powerful arms, she knew she had finally found where she belonged.
